Ascend ("Ascend," "we," "us," or "our") provides a recruit activation platform for life insurance agencies. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website and application at ascendrecruit.co and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and data generated through use of the Service:

  • Account and profile data — name, email address, phone number, role (manager, recruit, or owner), organization affiliation, and profile settings.
  • Onboarding and activity data — step progress, completion timestamps, proof uploads, notes, manager actions, streaks, and other events logged as you move through the 18-step path.
  • Recruit and team data — information managers enter about recruits (name, email, phone, state) and hierarchy relationships within an agency.
  • Communications — support requests, demo inquiries, and messages you send to us.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and usage logs needed to operate and secure the Service.

How we use your information

We use collected information solely to operate and improve the Service, including to:

  • Authenticate users and enforce organization-level access controls
  • Display onboarding paths, manager dashboards, and downline visibility
  • Store and display proof uploads tied to step completion
  • Send transactional emails (invites, notifications) and, with consent, SMS check-ins
  • Process subscriptions and billing when enabled
  • Respond to support requests and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Analyze aggregate usage to improve product reliability and features

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

SMS messaging

When SMS features are enabled, Ascend may send text messages through our messaging provider (Twilio) for purposes such as recruit invites, daily check-ins, and manager alerts. Message frequency varies by your agency's settings and activity.

By providing your phone number and opting in where required, you consent to receive these messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of non-essential SMS where supported; reply HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How we share information

We may share information only in these circumstances:

  • Within your organization — managers and authorized users can see downline data according to role and hierarchy rules built into the product.
  • Service providers — hosting, database, email (Resend), payments (Stripe), and SMS (Twilio) vendors that process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law.

Data retention and security

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Proof files are stored in private, access-controlled storage with time-limited signed URLs.

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, row-level security in our database, and least-privilege access for our team. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at support@ascendrecruit.co. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Cancellation and refunds

Subscription billing is handled through Stripe when enabled. You may cancel your subscription at any time from account settings or by contacting support; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis for billing errors or service issues reported within 14 days of charge. Contact support@ascendrecruit.co for billing questions. See our Terms of Service for additional payment terms.

Children and changes

The Service is intended for business use by adults in the insurance industry. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the Service or by email where appropriate.
